The Twin Block Tool was invented and patented by RealKFO. This tool simplifies the manufacture of the Twin Block:
•  Exact 70 º or 45 º angle  
•  Parallel angles on the left and right block 
•  Saves time when spraying and trimming 
•  Individually adjusted, long lasting, economical, easy-care

General Instructions for TwinBlock Construction  

  • Use the 70 º angle for class II    
  • Use the 45 º angle for extreme class II and the reverse TwinBlock
  • Before placing the models in the Fixator please groove the models on the base to ease replacement later.
  • Dr. Clark suggests using his Delta Clasps to give retention.
  • See below for short bending instructions for the Delta Clasps.
  • Start by bending the lower appliance
  • When the appliance is bent 
  • Attach the twinblock tool, keeping the edge of the tool to the middle of the second premolars (this is important)
  • Press the magnets down enabling a flush edge to the tooth 
  • Wax the tool firmly in place (with a blunt scalpel; the magnets are unfortunately very strong)
  • ((Dr. Clark suggests in his courses, labial bows are not always necessary))  
  • Apply the acrylic 
  • After the cure, trim the appliance, not touching the front of the blocks.
  • Trim the height of the blocks using the fixator / articulator as your guide
  • ​Polish the appliance. 
  • Place the appliance on the model and use Scheu-Dental "ISOFOLAN" foil to insulate the lower appliance from the upper appliance (this is a much quicker method than tape or wax)

  • Spray trim and polish the upper appliance. 
  • Tip: keep the lower first molar clear of clasps to allow elongation if necessary.
  • Tip: watch that the second molars are controlled ! danger of opening the bite.
  • Tip: check the buccal edge of the lower block it is often too sharp and needs rounding
